Global Bioeconomy Summit 2026: Programme Overview
The Global
Bioeconomy Summit (GBS) 2026 brings together international leaders,
researchers, policymakers, industry innovators and civil society to
explore how the bioeconomy can drive socio-economic transformation and
climate action.
Across two days of plenary discussions, workshops
and networking sessions, the programme highlights how bio-based
innovation can move from discovery to real-world impact. Participants
will explore successful examples of bioeconomy solutions, examine
policies and investment frameworks needed to scale them, and discuss how
biobased approaches can address interconnected global challenges such
as climate change, food security and sustainable livelihoods.
The
summit programme features sessions on innovation and scale-up in the
bioeconomy, policy and market frameworks for growth, and global
collaboration for sustainable development. It also provides a platform
to showcase European and Irish bioeconomy strategies and their
connections with international initiatives.
Looking ahead, the
summit will culminate in a forward-looking dialogue on the Bioeconomy
Vision 2040, outlining how bio-based systems can become a global
norm—supporting resilient economies, restoring nature, and enabling a
sustainable and inclusive future.
