Event Biogas Biorefineries. Renewable energy and nutrient recycling
The Biorefine Cluster Europe (BCE) and the Fertimanure project are pleased to invite you to their webinar on 'Biogas Biorefineries. Renewable energy and nutrient recovery', which will take place on Wednesday 14 December from 15:00 to 17:00 CET.
Anaerobic digestion is a widespread technology that is conventionally implemented for organic waste valorisation. Different reactor configurations can be used for the treatment of both solid and liquid feedstocks. Anaerobic digestion allows to obtain two by-products with high potential to be converted into high added value products: digestate and biogas. Digestate is often high in carbon and nutrients, which, if appropriately managed, shows potential as soil amendment or organic fertiliser, although it can be used to obtain other specific products. After its suitable treatment, biogas can be upgraded to biomethane which shows potential to partially substitute natural gas.
During this webinar, organised in the frame of the Nutrient Recycling Community of the BCE, innovative operation of anaerobic digestors will be reviewed as well as new generation digestate-derived products, novel biogas treatment, bottlenecks and cases of success.
Experts representing academy and industry will give us their vision:
- Sandra Esteves, University of South Wales
- Çağrı Akyol, Ghent University
- Oscar Antonio Osegueda Chicas, UVIC
- Anna Venturini, European Biogas Association
- Arnaud De Veron, Air Liquide
Join us and discuss with our experts the challenges, the successful experiences and the future perspective of anaerobic digestion and biogas valorisation in circular economy.
